Education in a fast changing world is a huge challenge. The only certainty we have is that the future is uncertain and unpredictable. So what will help our children to tackle uncertainty? More theory, knowledge, math and science? Or resilience, life-skills and self-regulation? And how do we do that?

Join us for a webinar exploring how life-skills can be cultivated in everyday school life. Drawing on decades of Waldorf practice, we will look at what these skills and competences actually are, why they matter more than ever, and how they are and can be woven into teaching in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.

This is a chance to deepen your understanding of why so much of what happens in a Waldorf school is deliberately skill and competence building. Whether you are a parent wondering what your child is really learning, a teacher seeking to strengthen the human dimension of your practice, or a school leader thinking about what education is ultimately for, this webinar offers both inspiration and grounding in Waldorf experience.

Speaker: Margareta Van Raemdonck

Margareta (Griet) is President of ECSWE, and a lifelong educator with over four decades of experience in Waldorf schools, teacher training, and education policy in Belgium and beyond. A former class, language, forestry teacher and school leader at the Zonnewijzer Steiner School in Leuven, she later served as coworker at the Federation of Steiner schools in Flanders, Pedagogical Director for secondary Steiner schools in Flanders and as a board member of the teacher education institute Edu Arta. As ECSWE’s President, Margareta brings both deep practical experience and a broad European perspective to questions of what education is for and what it takes to prepare young people for life.
